Remember i had a bad feeling when i was boarding the train to school, that i would see the crazy kid, and i really saw the crazy kid.. It happened again this morning while watching soccer..
Every soccer fan knows the Bayern v Man Utd clash in 1999 finals, when Man Utd scored 2 late goals to win the Champions League.. As i was watching Bayern v Man Utd yesterday, i had a bad feeling that a repeat of the 1999 results would resurfaced.. Obviously, the bad feeling would mean Man Utd would lose this match, cos i support them.. True enuf, i felt it was a replica match.. Deja Vu, but in a twisted way.. Or how Bayern fans would say, justice was served..
Let's compare..
1999 Bayern scored an early goal in the 6th minute and looked like holding on to the lead for the rest of the game..
2010 Man Utd scored an early goal in the 2nd minute and looked like holding on to the lead for the rest of the game..
1999 Bayern almost extended that lead by hitting the crossbar twice..
2010 Man Utd hit the crossbar once and came close to extending the lead with some clear cut chances..
1999 Bayern let in 2 late goals to lose the match, both in extra time 90+1 minute and 90+3 minute
2010 Man Utd let in one goal in the 76th minute and the last in extra time 90+2 minute
Do u see my point now? God has a sense of humour, really..
Bayern fans all over the world, who has some football knowledge, would be gloating at this "revenge" results.. But let me say, what happened in 1999 gave Man Utd a European Cup, while now in 2010, Bayern just gained a first leg advantage, IT AINT OVER!
So, here i am thinking, this "bad feeling" thing is kinda predicting how things would turn out for me.. I mean, i wanna believe it, cos obviously it has happened, but at the same time, if i do believe it, it means i probably would give up anything that i try if ever i had that bad feeling.. On the other hand, if i followed it, i could save myself loads of disappointments and the itch to tell myself , "i told you so" or "what the heck was i thinking?"
So, good or bad thing??
