A Looong Saturday..

Well, CHC never fails to disappoints when it comes to sports events.. Sadly, it was raining the whole morning on saturday, but yet, they still carried on with all the sports events. Basketball, Captain's Ball and Soccer were all played in the rain. I mean come on, rain but yet you still continue?? That's madness, what if someone fell sick from it? Or have a nasty injury from a slip?? Is CHC gonna compensate those medical?? It was an unnecessary risk..

But nonetheless, we still got through the first round, after hours of waiting for our game. Probably should have gotten a goal myself, but like what every professional soccer player would say after a win, it doesn't matter who scored, i'm just delighted the team got through.. haha!

I know i said we should be more relaxed and enjoy more, haha, but it was hardly the case when we started. We were relaxed with our passing but we were dead serious about the game. Everyone had their game face on. I admit i was pretty nervous myself, but when when we were up 3-1 i was confident already! But by then, the game was almost finished anyway.. haha!

But it was probably good that everyone of us was game on, cos we all raised our game in some way, or probably the opponents were not up to our expectations. We took on a team of china people, n they took the lead first thanks to our sloppy defending. But some inspirational play from Matt Lim, who lobang the defender and went on to assist Les for the goal, we equalised.

From there, we were controlling the game all the way, passes were all complete, interceptions were good, covering was adequate. We even had the audacity to play passing outside of the penalty box in a triangle formation before completing it with another audacious backheel finish from Les. That was the last goal of the game and it had "Good Game" stamped all over it. And i din know till just now when Terence told me, Les finished the game as the hat-trick hero, he probably should have taken the ball home. LOL!

I was pretty proud of myself for stepping up my game, intercepting balls is something i don't normally do cos i dun have the agility and the burst of speed to do it. But amazingly, i managed to keep their striker quiet by intercepting balls to him, tackling him when he tried to dribble past me, even managed to start a few attacks on my own! There was a slip at the start where i allowed the ball to go under my foot, but thankfully that din summarise my whole game.

That night, i went to celebrate Matt Tan's bday at Timbre. First we went to Timbre at Substation thinking we could eat some pizzas, drink some drinks and listen to the Goodfellas. But sadly, when we reached there, we found out that the place had been booked for a wedding event. Probably not fated with Timbre at Substation. No problem, we took a cab down to Timbre at the Art House. The queue was pretty long and the band The Irish feat Liz was playing an acoustic set. Not the ideal situation but trust me, if it was your bday wish, you wouldnt mind. So with all due respect to Matt Tan, of cos i also dun mind, at least we had a plan to do something!

But Amos, if you managed to read till this part of the post, let me issue you your yellow card! It's Matt's bday, if he want Timbre, den we should follow cos it's his bday! *It's my party and i cry if i want to... Cry if i want to.. * starts playing on the backgrd.. haha! So really, yellow card leh Amos, cannot liddat take away people's wish!

Anyway, we got in halfway the first set of songs, and it was pretty alrite. The only bad thing was that the drinks and food took too long to come. Thankfully, i ate with Amos before going down there, if not it would have been from 8am to 11pm, ate two slices of bread with chocolate and honey spread. But the pizza, which i really loved, Roasted Duck pizza, was really good! Thou it's pretty expensive, $17 , but considering a band playing and a pub where a coke can cost $5-7, it's probably still okay that a really good pizza cost $17.

But the highlight of the day was really Matt going up to play with the band! He played Creep on the guitar, but it was pretty funny cos we think the guitarist he took over was pretty unhappy! haha.. And the singer Pronouncing his chinese name wrongly.. haha.. That was pretty funny too!

To top of this whole week, I am delighted to say Man Utd have defeated Liverpool! Woo!! Not a win i'm particularly proud of becos in my honest opinion, it could have easily been a draw, but thankfully favor was on Man Utd! Yea, onward to the championship!
