In the eye of the beholder??

I read this article about what kind of woman is attractive to a man?? Kinda interesting.. so gonna share bits and pieces of it..

[The truth is - beauty lies in diversity - and the perception of range. It's a big ass and small tits in Rio De Janeiro, but the opposite in Miami. The English love their Page 3 girls, but they would find it hard to win a beauty contest in Africa. Look into Japan and it is cute and petite (preferably in uniforms?), with big eyes - embodied by the term kawaii.

What makes a woman beautiful??

The media plays an influential role in determining what is beautiful globally. ANd so does the culture of a society, according to scientists. Science has also proven that what we find it difficult to find certain things beautiful, especially those that are disproportional.

Being in Spore, the idea here seems to be a lean, fair-skinned girl with a pretty face and the straw poll proved the generalisation is true.

Dr Shyon Baumann, from Uni of Toronto has been leading a team to come up with the answer of beauty once and for all. They claim that men of all races are subconsciously attracted to women that have fair skinned, or will always prefer a fairer skinned woman given the choice. Additionally, women are more drawn to dark-complexioned men.

So why the preference for fair skinned women??

Its all down to purity. In a world where black is associated with evil, and white with goodness, researchers say that the baseline attraction is not driven by base desires, but rather by moral assumptions. Fairer skin is associated with "innocence, purity, modesty, virginity, vulnerability and goodness".

What the research shows is that our aesthetic preferences operate to reflect moral preferences. Within our cultures we have a set of ideals about how women should look and behave.

And is beauty really in the eye of the beholder?? It isnt, it is in the brain according to the researchers.. Our brains are fine-tuned and hardwired to help us figure out whether someone is beautiful or not because this helps us to survive as a race. Remember that the next time you get caught checking out a girl, IT'S IN YOUR GENES, NOT YOUR PANTS.

Years ago, scientist studying statues and carvings found that there was a certain degree of proportionality to the features on these stones. They studied the distance between other body parts and basically came up with a golden ration of 3:14. The researches at Uni of Toronto have proven that many catwalk models have generally proportional figures, but they all have something that is slightly out of proportion in their faces. Thus, make-up artists, stylists ad designers have something to work with.

Enter the media, which has had the biggest effect on the way we judge what is beautiful by far. Blondes have more fun? A Hollywood invention that has influenced the world. Over 90% of all female newscaster in AMerica are currently blonde, and that is probably the strongest testament to the strength of the media in projecting their values of beauty.

Researchers analysed advertisements featuring white women only, and found that women with the darkest complexions, were more likely to be in an advanced state of undress.]

No wonder whitening products are selling everywhere and so expensive as well..
